Ahoy, Iron Mountain Yacht Club sailors and hearty food lovers! As the crisp autumn air starts to settle over the water and the sailing season winds down into cozy evenings, it’s time for one of our most beloved club traditions: the annual <\/span>Chili Cook-Off<\/span><\/span>!<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

Mark your calendars for <\/span>Saturday, October 10, 2026<\/span><\/span> \u2014 this is the event that brings everyone together for laughs, friendly rivalry, and some seriously delicious chili. Held once again at our scenic <\/span>IMYC pavilion<\/span><\/span>, we’ll gather starting just before 6:00 p.m. Plan to arrive hungry!).<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

Will <\/span>Tonya Byrd<\/span><\/span> defend her title and claim victory for another year? Her legendary recipe has been the talk of the docks since she grabbed Patsy’s long running first place win \u2014 but the competition is fiercer than ever. Who knows? This could be the year someone sails away with the crown!<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

How It Works (Simple & Fun):<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

  • Competitors<\/span><\/span>: Bring your best pot of chili \u2014 homemade, secret ingredients welcome, heat level up to you. Whether it’s classic beef, veggie-packed, white chicken, or something wildly creative, we want to taste it!<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Non-competitors<\/span><\/span>: You lucky folks get the sweet assignment \u2014 bring your favorite desserts to share. Think pies, brownies, cookies, or that special fall treat you make every year.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • The Club Provides<\/span><\/span>: All the sides and accompaniments \u2014 cornbread, crackers, cheese, onions, sour cream, and more to make your bowl perfect.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Judging<\/span><\/span>: It’s pure democracy! Members taste and vote for their favorites in the blind tasting. The top chilis earn those <\/span>coveted prizes<\/span><\/span> \u2014 bragging rights, shiny trophies, and the eternal glory of being crowned IMYC Chili Champion.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    This isn’t just about the food; it’s about the camaraderie that makes our club special. Swap stories from summer sails, debate the best anchorages, and enjoy the fall colors reflecting off the water while savoring bowl after bowl.
